Sweeping in, sweeping out… another timely offering from the Witches Moon, this month’s box is called Witch’s Besom. The March Witches Moon Box focuses our attention on what we would like to sweep into our lives, and what we need to sweep out of them. It includes two meaningful focal items – an exclusive copy of Deborah Blake’s book The Witch’s Broom, and a hand-crafted besom.
Witch’s Besom
Introducing the collection, the Witches Moon says, “As you pass through the veil into your sanctuary, you find yourself captured by everything. Each item seems to be filled with a sense of life. The feeling of freedom and inspiration begin to overwhelm you. You catch a glimpse of something beautiful above the doorway. Before you can blink, your eyes are directed to the altar positioned in the center of the space. Placed delicately upon the altar table sits the Besom. As you pick it up, the smoke from the incense drifts in-between each bristle, swirls around the handle, and finally makes its way to the heavens. A faint whisper can be heard… ‘The Sweeper of Storms’.”
The Witches Moon Exclusive Hardcover of The Witch’s Broom by Deborah Blake

Published exclusively as a hardcover for this collection, this book by renowned author Blake, is “an authentic practitioner’s guidebook.” The Witches Moon says it is “a perfect resource when crafting or working with your Besom.”
“Broomstick magick can be used for cleaning, protection, preventing nightmares, bringing in love, and sweeping away illness. If you believe in the old legends, it can even be used to make rain or get rid of unwanted guests! In truth, the broom is a much more versatile and useful tool than you ever might have suspected.”
DEborah Blake
The book itself is – like other Witches Moon exclusive hardcovers – very nicely presented and includes a silken ribbon for bookmarking.
Hand-Crafted Ritual Altar Besom

The Altar Besom was crafted from Tamarindus Indica wood, Eleusine Plant, and Vetiveria Roots. All of these were chosen specifically for their “energetic impact.” Tamarind is said to attract love, and the handle of the besom is said to provide “a direct conduit to love in all its forms.” Eleusine is “related to dreams, ancient wisdom, and prosperity.” And Vetiveria Root is suggested as an “agent of tranquility and emotional calm.” The besom is bound by colorful twine, and an Amethyst crystal is nestled within the bristles. The Besom has been crafted in a small size to sit upon a personal altar, or in any sacred space. The Witches Moon offers suggestions for incorporating your besom, but encourages following one’s intuition above anything else. The besom I received is sweet, pretty, and well-constructed; I’ll be happy to place it in a meaningful spot.
Book of Shadows Artwork for the March Witches Moon Box

The Book of Shadows Artwork by A.E. Alden inside this month’s box includes Sweeper of Storms (with invocation by G. Ibis), Besom, and Amethyst. The Besom and Amethyst artwork both provide information and correspondences. The Sweeper of Storms artwork provides inspirational words that can help you get started working with your besom.
Items for Altar, Ritual, and Self-Care

Included in this month’s box are a Hand-Rolled & Anointed ‘Purity of Purpose’ Spell Candle, Exclusive Besom Oil, Sage Sweep Ritual Incense Sticks, and three packets of herbs (Eucalyptus, Spearmint Leaf, and Sacred Space Sweep Herbal Sprinkling Blend). The Witches Moon chose each item specifically for this collection. The items focus on releasing “hurt and harm, failure and fear,” soothing and healing, and creating a new sense of well-being.

Another really wonderful item in this month’s box is the Handmade Panakeia’s Peppermint Ritual Sacred Soap. The soap is lovely and encourages a feeling of comfort and safety. It is named for Panakeia, a goddess of cures and remedies. The Witches Moon suggests using the soap in cleaning the hands before ritual or meditative work. It smells lovely, and I’m looking forward to using it!
Larimar – Sing Your Song
The Personalized Oracle Reading is a single card from the Crystal Blessing Cards Deck by Valencia Chan. The Witches Moon says “The crystal represented may be a helpful companion for you to seek out on your journey ahead.” And here we have something else that is timely to me – the card included in my box is Larimar. The stone is said to correspond with the throat chakra, which is meaningful to me because of Hashimoto’s Disease, and it is said to assist communication and expression. Larimar is also called Dolphin Stone, and the card encourages you to put aside insecurities and be more like a dolphin. It says, “It’s more important to be yourself with all your idiosyncrasies than worry if you are doing it ‘right’.” This is a stone I will seek out!

I found this month’s box very uplifting and useful, and of particular relevance to me at this point in my life. There is much I have already been “sweeping away,” so to speak; this month’s collection encourages further sweeping away while also inspiring a sweeping in of more positive energies.
