I am so looking forward to Spring. Today the morning temperature was nine degrees outside, and although the mountains certainly look beautiful with their ridges covered in snow, I am anxious to see flowers breaking through thawed earth. The excitement of Spring’s rebirth and renewal is anticipated for sure! The February Witches Moon Box celebrates these irresistible qualities of the season, and shares with us a delightful collection of sweet artwork and meaningful ritual items.
The Equinox – Echoes of Spring

To introduce this box, which is called The Equinox – Echoes of Spring, the Witches Moon says, “As Imbolc passes by, calling upon the return of the Sun’s Rays, we prepare for the coming of Ostara. The world around us begins to change. You can sense transformation in the air, as if an electric current passes through every part of your being. Feelings of inspiration, excitement, and eagerness fill your vessel. We begin turning the wheels of growth for the coming months, so that we may see full manifestation through to the end. In this extremely special celebratory collection, we prepare to honor Ostara. We wanted to ensure that these boxes were in your hands well before the Equinox towers above you.”
Triple Call of Spring Iron Windchime w/Bells

The focal item of the February box is the Triple Call of Spring Iron Windchime with Bells. Windchimes have historically been believed to ward off evil spirits or “draw upon the positive forces of nature.” The Witches Moon explains, “the windchime is a symbol of divine connection with the spirit world, whether sending and receiving messages, or simply acting as a token of harmony between the physical and spiritual realms.” The windchime included in this month’s box was handcrafted in iron, and it clearly portrays symbols of the “Pentacle, Triquetra, and Hexagram.” Essentially, the Witches Moon Windchime represents the “Call of Spring,” the inspiration to take action, pursue growth, and be willing to transform.
Hand-Painted Ostara Wooden Eggs, with Sigils

I actually consider these eggs another focal item of this month’s box. These are pretty cool, and also adorable, honestly. These wooden eggs were designed for this box, and each one is hand-painted and adorned with a sigil created by G Ibis. The sigils are for growth, passion, and rebirth. It is suggested that these wooden eggs be placed on an Ostara altar “to foster new energies of hope and inspiration.”
Book of Shadows Artwork from the February Witches Moon

One of the highlights of every Witches Moon Box is the Book of Shadows Artwork by A.E. Alden. This typically consists of a larger (8×10″) illustrated print, and at least one other – but usually more than one – smaller piece. As much as I enjoy the darker or mysterious, I have to say, I am just loving this month’s Book of Shadows artwork. I mean, bunnies and bright flowers! 🙂 The pieces included this month are a larger print for the goddess Ostara, illustrated and with useful, descriptive text about this Spring deity; Sigils of Ostara, which further details the sigils on the hand-painted wooden eggs; and Symbols of Spring, which illustrates major symbols of the season. Also shown in the photo above is the Tree of Life Spring Altar Cloth. Measuring 18″, this mossy green cloth is intended for use on an Ostara altar.
The single card that sits atop the artwork is the “Personalized Oracle Reading” I received in my box.
Echoes of Spring Ritual Items

For February, the Witches Moon has provided small packets of Visions of Ostara Ritual Herbal Blend, Spring Invocations Ritual Herbal Blend, and Protect & Prosper Candle Dressing Herbal Blend. A package of bath salts is also included, called Inspiratio, made with lemon, lemongrass, rosemary, and ginger oils, as well as jasmine and chamomile herbs. A Hand-Rolled Seeds of Plentitude Candle and Cymbopogon Incense sticks may help you focus your intentions on “casting away negativity,” embracing happiness, and allowing clarity. The Witches Moon has created the Ostara Anointing Oil for this season to “provide feelings of new life, fresh perspective, and balance.”

A more “robust” quartz stone is also included in this month’s box. Quartz is said to be one of the strongest stones for setting intentions, and this quartz bubble is meant to be included on an Ostara altar or in other spiritual work.
