Earlier this month I was able to get away for a full week’s vacation. I went away with my husband, and we met up with our daughter and her partner. We had a fantastic time. We celebrated Mother’s Day as well as our thirty-sixth wedding anniversary. Part of the reason for the trip was exploratory… We expect we will need to move out of state in the next couple of years, due to circumstances pretty much out of our control, and so we were checking out areas we had passed through before but hadn’t really spent a lot of time in. We specifically wanted to get a feel for these areas, see how well we connected to them and the people, and how much we could fit in ourselves if we were to move there. The Witches Moon Box for May 2026 arrived right before I left for vacation.
This month’s box aligns with what I have personally been going through. So many of their boxes are timely for me, seamlessly fitting in with whatever I have going on in my life, or with what I am going through internally. For May, the box is titled Threads of the Living Earth, and it’s all about connectedness, network, and joyful living.
Threads of the Living Earth

Mushroom Folk Oracle by Sharon McLeod
The featured item in this month’s box is the Mushroom Folk Oracle by Sharon McLeod. This is a 42-card deck with an accompanying 192-page guidebook. With this oracle, we are meant to “learn about the powerful healing and connective energies of 42 mushroom folk.” Each card is intended to help us feel connected to “the mushroom world,” and help empower us on our journey. The artwork for each card is original artwork done by the author, and is very colorful, unique, and spirited. There is unmistakable warmth, and joy, to these cards. This is a delightful set, and I can’t wait to dive in further.
Book of Shadows Original Artwork
As always, the May box of the Witches Moon includes original artwork by A.E. Alden. These include Mushrooms of Nourishment & Awakening, Mushrooms of Poison & Illusion, and The Mycelial Ancestry. All of these are wonderfully illustrated and include detailed correspondences as well as guidance on how to incorporate “the benevolent spirits of the fungi realm” into your practice.
Large Rough Rose Quartz
A very large, hefty piece of Rose Quartz has also been included in May’s box. This is a very nice piece of quartz. As the Witches Moon says, this piece of Rose Quartz “offers love that is not polished or performative, but rather real, grounding, and deeply supportive.” It is suggested that this quartz be allowed to bring a sense of self-love and emotional renewal. It can also be used alongside the Mushroom Folk Oracle, or in any spiritual working or meditation.
Ritual and self-care supplies
Whether you create ritual or other spiritual workings, or simply focus on self-care in your personal spiritual work, the Witches Moon boxes always include supplies that are highly usable as well as high quality and unique. For May, they have provided a Hand-Rolled & Anointed Liminal Crossing Beeswax Spell Candle, Earth Veil Magickal Anointing Oil, Handmade Natural Presence Incense Sticks, and packets of Chaga Mushroom Powder and Reishi Mushroom Powder. In addition, a single sheet of parchment paper is provided for jotting down notes or planning out ritual work.
Personalized Oracle Reading
Every month, the Witches Moon provides a single card from an oracle deck. These are randomly chosen, but are said to be meaningful for the recipient. This month, the single card is from the Mushroom Folk Oracle itself. The card that came with my box, which can be seen in the main image above, is the Wood Ear Pixie.
Connectedness and healing
This month’s Witches Moon Box is both dynamic and comforting. Its focus on mushrooms – or spirits of the fungi realm – is exciting, and its intention to offer connectedness is timely and healing. As I consider feelings of connection to possible new homes and new communities, this month’s box allows me to dig deeper and feel the connections provided by the Earth itself. It helps me stay focused on positive feelings of comfort and kinship.
I highly recommend the Witches Moon Box, for anyone who enjoys bringing physical practice into their spiritual, or anyone who simply enjoys using spiritual tools in their self-care practices. It is truly one of the best subscription boxes I have ever received, and at this point, the one I have been subscribing to the longest.
