Egyptian mysticism has always fascinated me; it is highly compelling, and was of course, a huge influence on Western occultism. When I opened the Witches Moon Box ~ July 2026, I was immediately excited. This month’s box features an exclusive altar bust of Anubis – crafted just for the Witches Moon, gorgeous Book of Shadows artwork, and a selection of items for use in ritual or spiritual practice. As I’ve said before, the Witches Moon Box is often timely for me, and this month’s is no different, as I have been going through transitions in my life, and have been feeling the pull of the more magickal again.

Anubis ~ The master of secrets exclusive collection

The Witches Moon writes, “Through the pain of transition comes the beauty of formation, and when this regeneration is pursued with a truthful heart, we create a sacred form of magickal realization, where a sense of clarity and purpose is fully embraced. In this unique and highly requested collection, we explore the aspects of the great master of secrets, Anubis, who oversees the journey of our souls as we tend to our life’s work. These exclusive items were crafted for those that actively pursue initiation into magickal thinking and practice.”

One thing that sets the Witches Moon Box apart from other subscription boxes, is their offering of exclusive products made just for the Witches Moon. These are often items that one might keep for many years to come, meaningfully incorporated into personal practice. The Anubis bust was designed after Anubis’ aspect as “guide of souls,” who might assist us in finding our truth, as well as peace of mind, as we navigate through life’s difficult changes. The symbolism of Anubis is intended to give the practitioner “courage, discernment, and integrity.” Crafted for the Witches Moon audience who have an interest in magickal living, this Anubis bust expresses his energy well – there is strength but also approachability; he is quite an endearing figure.

Original Book of Shadows Artwork

Book of Shadows original artwork, by A.E. Alden; single card from the Isis Oracle by Alana Fairchild and Jimmy Manton

The Witches Moon provides several pieces of original art prints by A.E. Alden that align perfectly with the month’s theme. These beautifully illustrated pieces provide a bounty of information and correspondences for ritual or magickal use, or personal reflection. This month, the pieces are Anubis, The Jackal, and A Heart Made Light. I always enjoy these Book of Shadows pieces, but I particularly love these (I could be biased as a lover of big dogs – one of whom was actually a Pharoah Hound).

Ritual supplies & magickal items

Ritual and magickal supplies

The July Witches Moon Box includes a hand-rolled and anointed “Guardian of the Sacred Path” beeswax candle, with an accompanying ankh charm and sigil. A black jasper crystal is included as a stone of safety or grounding, to be used when we might be pondering the unknown. Small, individual packets of Cinnamon Chips, Rosemary, and Clove are provided for use in ritual work, as is a small bottle of the Witches Moon’s own Anubis oil. A handmade, natural Copal incense is also included. A single sheet of parchment paper is provided for jotting down notes, recording ritual or spiritual work, or journaling.

Personalized Oracle Reading

Every month, the Witches Moon includes what they refer to as a Personalized Oracle Reading, which is a single card from a chosen tarot or oracle deck. These cards can be quite meaningful, and give each user something to reflect on, or learn from. For this month, the card is from the Isis Oracle (pocket edition), by Alana Fairchild and Jimmy Manton. The card for my “personalized oracle reading” is Proper Burial for Freedom. Its main message is, “Osiris, Lord of the Dead, guides you now to release that which no longer needs to be a part of your life so that you may be free.”
